Master the Cobra 3865: A Complete Guide to Your Vehicle Security System

The Cobra 3865 is a CAN-bus alarm system. This means it "talks" directly to your vehicle's computer. When you lock your doors with your factory remote, the Cobra system arms itself automatically.

If you need to leave a pet in the car or leave the windows slightly cracked, you must disable the interior sensors to avoid false alarms. Turn the ignition OFF.

Press the "Lock" button on your vehicle’s original remote. You will usually hear two beeps (if enabled) and see the indicators flash. The LED on the dashboard will flash rapidly for about 30 seconds while the sensors stabilize, then slow down to a steady pulse.

After you disarm the alarm, the LED may flash in a specific sequence. This is a telling you why the alarm went off: 1 Flash: Door/Bonnet/Boot opened. 2 Flashes: Ultrasonic sensor triggered. 3 Flashes: Ignition attempt. 4 Flashes: Tamper/Power cut. 6. Maintenance Tips
